We are thrilled to announce that we are installing a wheelchair/accessible lift which will connect our lower lobby to our auditorium. Additional upgrades include adding an accessible bathroom, as well as an exterior ramp to ensure full accessibility for our audience members.
We want to thank the Acton Community Preservation Committee, the residents of Acton who approved our funding at Acton Town Meeting, the Massachusetts Cultural Council(1), and the many Theatre III donors who have contributed towards it. This project would not be happening without all of your support.
Please be aware: for our fall 2025 production of Women in Jeopardy!, access to the lower lobby will be limited to restroom use only; audience members will enter through our front doors, tickets will be available in the upper lobby, and concessions will be available in the auditorium.
We anticipate that this project will be completed this winter; check this page for updates.
(1) Funding for this project has been provided by the Massachusetts Cultural Facilities Fund, a program of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, administered through a collaborative arrangement between MassDevelopment and the Mass Cultural Council.
October 3, 2025: Building out the entrance to the lift in the downstairs lobby, cutting just into the former box-office-side restroom.
October 3, 2025: finding all sorts of old, out-of-date construction while rebuilding the restrooms on one side and adding an accessible one.
October 3, 2025: framing out the upstairs "lift lobby" that will exit onto the landing with a new entrance door into the auditorium.
September 18, 2025: The "London Bar" downstairs lobby is crammed with all the supplies we've pulled out of the concessions area, some of the bathroom supply closets, and our box office, as the initial work for the lift and accessible bathroom are underway.
September 18, 2025: The framing for our lift shaft is in place at the back of our risers in the auditorium.
